“COLLABORATING IN LIFESTYLES AND LEGACIES”

Overview

Andrew Crocker Architect (ACA) is an architectural services firm serving residential, commercial, and institutional clients.  Founded in 2010, ACA collaborates with clients to build spaces for living, working, and learning that inspire and endure.  Informed by a sense of place, light, and natural materials, the firm’s functional designs enhance lifestyles and strengthen legacies.

About Andrew

Andrew Crocker is ACA’s founder and principal architect.  He founded ACA in 2010 after more than decade of employment with several award-winning architectural firms in the Boston area.  Andrew’s design work is wide ranging.  His projects include construction and renovation (both large- and small-scale) of high-end urban and suburban residences; improvements to academic, residential, and athletic facilities at universities and boarding schools; and exterior/structural upgrades to mixed-use commercial developments.  Andrew graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a major in Architecture and earned a Master of Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).

Approach

Andrew enjoys meeting with clients, listening to their ideas, and guiding them through the design process. Approachable and relaxed, Andrew helps clients identify and articulate each project’s underlying objectives.  At ACA, the design process is a collaborative effort. The firm believes ongoing client participation is key to meeting—and exceeding—the aesthetic and financial goals of its clients.

Personal

Andrew describes himself as a spatial, three-dimensional thinker with a natural ability to solve complex design and construction challenges.  An avid and competitive sailor since childhood, Andrew now resides in Manchester-by-the-Sea with his wife and three children.  The skills Andrew developed over a lifetime of racing sailboats—identifying a boat’s strengths, adapting to environmental changes, leading cooperative teams—enable him to successfully manage the design, planning, and construction phases of highly complex architectural projects.

Charitable

Andrew donates his time and skill to the communities where he lives and to the sport he loves.  Current and previous volunteer engagements include the Manchester Yacht Club, the Manchester Essex High School sailing team (Junior Varsity coach), the Manchester-Essex Rotary Club, the Manchester-By-The-Sea Zoning Board of Appeals, the Charlestown Preservation Society, and the Massachusetts Charitable Society.
