This gut renovation of an 1850's workers cottage in Boston's Charlestown neighborhood included a new dormer and roof deck. The building's pitched roof and the neighborhood's zoning ordinances required a creative solution to accommodate the roof deck that the owners desired. The new dormer made room for a master suite and nursery on the top floor of the 4 level townhouse.
Wood, exposed brick, and antique floors can be found throughout the townhouse. Built-ins, movable walls, and open shelves were installed to maximize the available space, and accommodate a modern lifestyle.
